Who are we?
We were founded in 2020, by Caroline Lair as a for-profit community of AI startups, scaleups, and talent on a mission to help deliver on Sustainable Development Goals, to enable a more responsible and circular business.
What do we do?
As a community builder, we connect relevant talents, startups, VCs, and corporates that are working/interested in the use of AI for good. We do so by running various online and on-site programs, activities, and events that centre around the sharing of knowledge, expertise, and opportunities at the intersection of AI and impact.
What are our impact areas?
Our Five Impact Areas are as follows:
- Climate & Biodiversity — carbon reduction, protection of biodiversity, water management, climate risks
- Circularity — circular products, components & materials, circular business models, circular infrastructures
- Future of Work & Human Rights — diversity & inclusion, upskilling & re-skilling, well-being & mental health, modern slavery & child labour
- ESG Reporting — ESG Data Tracking, collecting & reporting, carbon accounting
- Responsible Use of AI — Carbon footprint, AI bias, transparency & explicability, privacy & security
Where are we located?
Our base is in Paris, France. But we operate, and conduct events, & activities globally; with a slight focus in Europe, given it's our region of birth.
Who is in the community?
The community is made up of two types of members, talents & ventures. The talents refer to individuals that are in some way or another, working/have an interest in the use of AI for good. These can involve doctorate holders, current students, or corporate employees.
Meanwhile, venture refers to startups and scaleups that can be from anywhere around the globe, although the majority of our members are in Europe & North America. These ventures are using AI to address one or more of our five impact areas.
What kind of activities do we do?
We do an array of activities that all serve the purpose of helping our community members achieve their goals with regard to using AI for good. Some examples include:
- Learning from your Peers: sessions where a community member shares their expertise with the community.
- The Good AI Conversation: a regular online, public event where we bring together experts to discuss an issue relevant to the community.
- Investor Roundtables: we invite VCs for an Ask me Anything session with startup members from the community, to give them an insight into what particular types of VCs are looking for.
- The Good AI Voices: we routinely conduct interviews with startup founders in the community, AI experts, and relevant individuals.
- Job Board: we curate our own job board from opportunities within & outside of the community, the common theme of the jobs is their focus on using AI for good.
- Community Projects: we make space for community members to collaborate on different projects that are common to them. For example, in green AI practices, AI education in Africa, etc.
